A few days ago I posted a shot taken whilst in Bosnia in 2002. I have since re-opened the whole file and decided to post some more. This time its a Croatian Hotel that suffered quite badly during the war. The building was apparently used as a sniper hideout. I had to climb fences to get these shots! Taken on film, scanned and cleaned up is PS.

looks like bullet holes in the wall. The contrast of how this place looks now to when it was built is stark. mal

A stark view. It reminds me of a prison block.

A nice 'gritty' image.

I see bullet holes on the walls, looks like someone has been shooting from and at the balcony on top left side of this image. But surprisingly, the building looks perfect. No cracks or anything, only bullet holes.

OK, First, thanks for the rothko comment, you made my day. Now a review of your work inclusive of all photos posted since this photo. On the whole I like your images, a few are very very good, most of fair to good, and some less so. But that is to be expected. We can never shoot great photos every time. What I like is the monolithic feel to them. They occupy the entire space and feel complete. They occur in one plane, even the landscapes seem like they have no depth but exist only in the flat plane of the film. I cannot say if this is good or bad only that it exists. You seem drawn to flat planer objects like the red window. The image, its placement or composition is thought out carefully. I suspect the color or lack thereof also is planned to produce a flat image. I try to give accurate critiques without the value judgements of good or bad or pretty or nice ect ect ect.
