We live about 17 miles from Middlesbrough and it's where I work. Some parts of the town are nice- really nice, others parts look like this! A few months ago Middlesbrough was voted the worst place to live in the UK, I thought that was a bit harsh to be honest, it has its rough areas just like every other city or town but no more than others. However, there are quite a few pockets of urban decay and dereliction like this one, which although sad and unfortunate make great photography subjects.

Hey Rhys..as you say we've all got places like this, and after all,is only the fault of the local authority in the end,as I should think there's homeless people crying out for houses like these...so ends my bitch of the day*-)).. b.t.w...you asked me if I'd ever thought of becoming an artist...I used to dabble only with water colours and acrylics many moons ago, nothing serious just friends and family..at the moment I prefer the digital medium as it is so interesting combining photography and media manipulation and you can get fantastic results with just a few clicks...easy..!!! That's why I admire your p/blog so much, because you can see far beyond the image presented,as you are an artist also... I've seemed to have passed my artistic genes on to my son, whose got his fingers in many pies, but is also a commercial artist and photographer, catch him here:- http://dcportfolio.blog.co.uk/ ciao for now... Billy...
