Trip to Saltburn on Sunday. I've photographed the pier loads of times, some images get posted, some get left in the archives. I quite like this one, I wanted a different angle on the pier itself.

We usually see piers looking out to sea. This is certainly different looking up and toward the land. The composition is excellent and the b/w very pleasing here. An excellent photo.

@Scotfot: Oh, yes! Still really well maintained and well used. Apparently its one of the most photographed coastal features in the UK.

It looks almost like a bridge from this angle. I like the look of the partially frozen water and the way that the clouds look like smoke rising from behind the hills.
