Gloomy day on Saltburn beach. The tide was on its way out which gave the sand a mirrored appearance. The clouds over the hills looked ominous - we didn't stay long! I like the lack of intrusion in this shot. Emptiness is something I feel drawn to. I have a quest to one day photograph 'nothing'. It may be an eternal quest but what the heck. On another note, thanks to everyone who commented on the shots from the past week - the 'Misc_001' series. I still have approx 1000+ negatives in ring-binders from years gone by- all awaiting scanning. You never know, there may be a 'Misc_002' in the future...

@fairuz: thanks! one of the many bonus points of the 5D is the Full Frame = wide means wide.
Simply wonderful, the mood the sky and the excellent composition. You've captured a winner here!

@moonhead: Yeah, go on you know you want to! (but keep the 40D as well !)
ok, how you do that? It's not about how beautiful is your capture, or the great composition, not even the perfect tones of your image. It's about how I feel when I look at it, it's about the emotion you can transmit with just a photo. I wanna be there !

@Garibaldi: Thanks for the comments, pleased you like the shot.
Wonderful composition, the depth is simply amazing. I will say the clouds in the frame made all the wonder, Viewing the image for me is as if I am standing on the shore and watching this beauty. Well caught.

This is an extraordinary image because of the limited range of colors and the very soft contours throughout. Really impressive.
