WHIT_Y FI__ RE_TAURANT

The other day I spent a considerable amount of time walking around my home town of Darlington. I like Darlington, it has a lot going for it- location, house prices, close proximity to countryside and the coast etc. But, on my walk-about I found myself focusing on the more run-down and seedy parts of the town. Basically I went in search of material that wasn't the normal stuff that people who live here see on a daily basis.
This place in on a busy road out of Darlington, its basically a tiny little building in amongst lots of other tiny little buildings. Most people just whizz straight past it in their cars. As you can probably guess, it no longer takes reservations .

Good photo Rhys. It is always rewarded when you walk through any place, anywhere with time and a camera! If you love photos and if you know how to make good pictures you will find always a lot of interesting motives.

@QUIM: I agree, I can very easily loose track of all time whilst on a walk-about with my camera. The reason why I gave this blog it's name is because - 'Its All Around You' !

Guess the missing letters...... I think only people from the North would get it right. Quite a run-down establishment and no Michelin star rating :0 But a very good observation Rhys, I like this type of shot. Possibly better in BW ?

@Observing: I know what you mean about the b/w, but I think the vast exapanse of white and minimal amount of colour works well. Considering I prefer b/w, the next few days shots are all in colour. I must be having a weird turn.

A beautiful composition, Rhys. Even the curtain in the door window has seen better days. Scenes like this are more abundant than we realize ... I'm curious to see what else you found on your walk-about!

@Anthony: I dont want to think about what cuisine they served! Its in such an odd spot, I dont even know who would have gone there to eat. Well, I suppose nobody did, hence the way it is now. Besides, Whitby isn't that far away and people tend to prefer a day out and get the real thing.
