Saltburn Beach, Long exposure. I got wet taking this- I was stood maybe 3 or 4 metres into the sea, I thought I was safe, but then a rogue wave came and gave me 2-tone jeans. Could have been worse I suppose. This was going to be in colour, but I think b/w has a lot more power.

It's a dramatic and moody type of image, and the sea has a silky look with that long exposure. I see that you divided the image into equal parts. I think would have prefered slightly less sea. Excellent work.

The pursuit of formal beauty from what is around (sometimes a wet around). Normally, I don't like photographing water with long exposures. It gives the water a plastic look. Unless the aim is not to picture the reality but to create images inspired by the reality, as is the case.

You're right, this is extremely powerful. A perfect composition, well balanced. And I really like the different hints of b/w in the "almost" pure sky and on the sand too... excellent picture.

Very nice, tranquil shot. I think you made the right decision to go with black and white. I cannot imagine it being any stronger in colour.
