This is the first in a series of images, each has been taken behind or just off one of Darlington's main roads or streets. Behind the familiar and well kept facades lurks decay, filth and ruin. Oh! Great cheery stuff!

Apart from this being an incredible image technically, it's one that evokes many feelngs. The bog standard victorian 2up 2down terrace. But how many children were born there into large families, how many spent their day's there in such a tiny cramped space. An excellent record Rhys.

This continues your series on Darlington, but on a different register. The former photos pictured mainly businesses that went bankrupt, this one is about physical decay of one building. And there are so many in old towns, normally in back streets.

Looks like a familiar sight, Rhys ... in St. Louis (here in the center of North America) this is an all too familiar sight in back alleys (and main streets, for that matter) ... buildings have been neglected and allowed to fall into ruin whilst developers continue to build "cookie-cutter" dream homes for people further and further from the city center. Great piece of documentary photography!

This image has a true gritty feel to it. Great urban photography if you ask me and I'm really looking forward to more of this series. Have you tried converting it to black and white? I find that it often works quite well for this type of shot.

As Ron says, this is an all-too-familiar sight in most places. At least, in the UK, places do get redeveloped whereas, in the US, a plentiful supply of land makes it easier to build elsewhere.
