I am a Tourist #1

We spent an enjoyable few days of last week exploring Northumberland. Like a complete tourist I snapped away at the usual sights. This is another shot processed in LAB mode, for a better idea of what that involves I would suggest you visit Chromasia where David Nightingale is a bit of a master.
This was taken mid-morning looking towards Bamburgh Castle. The light was a bit too harsh for my liking- I imagine it would look ten times better in the late afternoon.

I really like this wide angle...the way the clouds reflect in the water, the waves upon the shore and the storm clouds moving in. Really lovely!

ha! i just finished responding to your comment only to click upon a thumbnail that caught my eye and it just happens to be yours! :) great job here, i think the lighting is actually quite beautiful and not too harsh -- though i do hear you on the general misery shooting midday... (why is that?)
anyways, lovely pic mate, love the clouds and the waterfront... the castle in the distance is the icing on the cake and just pulls it all together beautifully. nice one.

I like the reflection of the clouds in the wet sand and the delicate beams of light going through the clouds. Beautiful composition!

This is not a common tourist photo or travel photo. It's a good landscape photo.
My eyes were firstly directed towards those cloud reflections on the soaked sand. For me it's the dominant feature, from where all the rest develops.

I agree with some of the others. I think you are being harsh on this one, both in terms of it being a "tourist picture" and the lighting. I'd just go with that it would different later in the day. It's actually works quite well with the clouds. Nicely done.
